Akshi Tarpan (Eye Rejuvenation Therapy) 6 Mar Akshi Tarpan (Eye Rejuvenation Therapy) Akshi Tarpan is a process in which the eye is filled with medicated oil or ghee for a certain period. First of all, the patient is asked to lie down on the table comfortably. Then a circular compartment (Basti) around the eye with a height of about one and half inch is made by using dough of black gram. Then the warmed medicated ghee or oil is slowly poured in this compartment while keeping the eyes closed. During this process the patient is asked to open and close the eyes frequently, so that the medicated oil or ghee may remain well in touch with eyeball. This Panchakarma therapy provides strength to eyes and freshness & lightness in the eye area.
